I'm not a professional but you should never take out a piercing that has a bump or is infected, it is possible that the hole will close up with the bacteria/ infection still inside. The best thing to do is just clean it with sterile saline solution like H2Ocean or NeilMed wound wash.The only way for my piercings to heal was using camomile tea and the bump and swelling just went down. I know it’s looked down on in this sub, but every single bump I had would only go down after I used tea tree oil.
